Ponderosa pines close to the north-side neighborhoods.

Fox Run Regional Park is one of the most useful outdoor spaces between Monument and northern Colorado Springs because it combines everyday recreation with reservable facilities.

The County lists cycling and mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, picnic pavilions and tables, playgrounds, volleyball, horseshoes, interpretive displays, fields, restrooms and drinking fountains. Timber Ridge overlooks Aspen and Spruce Lakes with Pikes Peak and the Front Range beyond.

Park hours are 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Reservation season is April 1 through October 31. Several seasonal restrooms close from November 1 through March 31, while the Wedding Gazebo restroom is listed as open year-round.

02Trails and facilities

Four miles of multi-use trail, plus more than a trailhead.

Use the County map for the current trail network and facility locations.

Trails

The County describes four miles of multi-use trails winding through the Fallen Timbers area. Hiking, cycling/mountain biking and horseback riding are listed park uses.

Pavilions and fields

Fox Run has reservable picnic pavilions and fields during the County's reservation season. Facility availability changes, so a particular pavilion or date should be checked in the County reservation system rather than assumed from an old calendar.

Special Events Gazebo

The County currently says the Special Events Gazebo will be available for reservations in 2027. It should not be advertised as a normal 2026 reservation option.

03Fox Run Dog Park

A separate five-acre off-leash area.

The fenced Fox Run Dog Park sits in the southeast corner of the regional park and operates dawn to dusk. County information lists a five-acre fenced area, a half-mile loop trail and a separate 1.5-acre small-dog area for dogs 25 pounds or less.

Dogs must remain leashed in the parking lot and until inside the designated off-leash area. The County also requires handlers to carry a leash and remain in control and visual contact with their dogs.

042026 accessibility update

Trailability expanded to Fox Run this year.

El Paso County expanded its Trailability Program to Fox Run in 2026. The program uses off-road Terrain Hopper mobility vehicles so participants with disabilities can experience one- to four-mile trail outings with family or companions.

The 2026 season runs May 1 through October 31, with Fox Run hikes offered on varying Saturdays. Participation is free, but registration is required through the County program.

Fox Run also helps define the outdoor character of the north Monument and Northgate area. For buyers comparing nearby neighborhoods, the practical difference is the drive or trail access from a specific property rather than a generic claim that a home is “near Fox Run.”
