The Monument Hill Kiwanis 4th of July Parade returns to downtown Monument on Friday, July 4, 2025, kicking off one of Colorado’s most anticipated small-town Independence Day celebrations. Known for its local charm, patriotic energy, and big community turnout, the Monument parade draws thousands of spectators and participants every year.

🎉 Parade Start Time: 10:00 AM sharp

👧 Kiddie Parade: 9:30 AM – a short loop for the youngest children on decorated bikes and wagons.

🗺️ Parade Route: The expanded 2025 route begins at the corner of Front Street and 2nd Street, travels west on 3rd Street through downtown, turns left on Beacon Lite Road, continues along 2nd Street, and loops around Limbach Park before ending at Lincoln Avenue. There is no parking allowed along the parade route or lineup areas, and violators will be towed.

🚧 Lineup Area: All parade entries must stage along Old Denver Highway between Baptist Road and Santa Fe Ave. This area is closed to the public and designated exclusively for lineup. Arrive early to avoid traffic delays and road closures, which begin as early as 6:00 AM.

🚌 Free Public Parking & Shuttle: Park at Lewis-Palmer High School (1300 Higby Rd). Free shuttle buses will transport attendees to downtown Monument from 7:30 AM to 9:45 AM and return from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM. ADA parking is available at 259 Beacon Lite Road.

📌 Tip: Arrive before 9:00 AM, bring folding chairs, sun protection, and a plenty of water. Parade seating fills fast along 3rd Street and near Limbach Park—grab your spot early!

  • 🐎 Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo Riders & Queens: Western flair is on full display with decorated horses, rodeo royalty, and traditional flags waving down 3rd Street.

  • 🎖️ Military & Veterans Groups: Uniformed honor guards, restored military vehicles, and veteran associations march proudly in formation to salute our nation’s history.

  • 🚗 Classic Cars & Custom Vehicles: Expect to see vintage rides from every era, muscle cars, Jeeps, fire trucks, and creatively decorated trailers cruising by in true small-town style.

  • 🎉 Themed Floats & Community Groups: From Scout troops and churches to civic organizations and local businesses, parade participants show off their creative side with red, white, and blue displays celebrating independence day.

  • 🐾 It’s not the 4th of July without the support of our four-legged friends! From pro rodeo horses to patriotic pups—and maybe even an exotic animal or two from the Renaissance Festival—these crowd favorites always bring a little extra spirit to the parade.

The parade typically runs about an hour and winds through the heart of Monument, offering a front-row view of local pride in action. Be ready to cheer, wave, and maybe catch a few pieces of candy.

If you’d like to be more than a spectator this year, you’re in luck! The 2025 Monument Hill Kiwanis 4th of July Parade is now accepting entries from community members, organizations, businesses, schools, equestrian groups, and more.

📝 Registration Details

  • Who Can Participate? Any local group, business, school, marching band, veteran unit, car club, scout troop, or family team with a festive, patriotic spirit!

  • Theme: This year’s parade theme is “Scouting in America.”

  • Deadline: Registration is open now and will close once the parade reaches capacity. Early signup is strongly encouraged.

  • Float Requirements: All entries must be family-friendly and under 35 feet in length. No materials may be thrown from floats—candy and giveaways must be gently handed out.

📍 Where to Line Up

All parade participants will stage along Old Denver Highway between Baptist Road and the Santa Fe Trail. This area is closed to public vehicles and used exclusively for lineup. You’ll receive a designated spot and check-in instructions a few days before parade day.

This is a non-competitive, community-focused parade—there is no float judging in 2025, just lots of spirit and recognition for creativity and positive energy.

Post-Parade Festivities at Limbach Park

Once the last float rolls through and the applause settles, the party keeps going just a block away at Limbach Park—the heart of Monument’s post-parade celebration. Whether you're in the mood for a cold drink, live entertainment, or a bite to eat, this is the place to be after the main event wraps up.

🍻 Music & Beer Garden

Head to the Music & Beer Garden on the south side of Limbach Park (at the corner of 2nd Street and Front Street) for an afternoon of live local music, good vibes, and cold drinks. Hosted in partnership with local vendors and the town, this popular gathering spot is shaded and relaxed—perfect for unwinding with friends and neighbors.

  • 🍺 Craft & Domestic Beer: Beer wristbands are available to adults 21+ with valid ID
  • 🎸 Live Bands: Music starts shortly after the parade and continues into the early afternoon
  • 🌳 Shaded Lawn Area: Bring a blanket or low-profile chair and enjoy a front-row seat to the stage

Street Fair & Food Vendors

Just east of the park along 2nd Street, you’ll find a full street fair featuring dozens of vendors, local artisans, community booths, and food trucks. Expect:

  • 🍕 Pizza, BBQ, tacos, shaved ice, and more
  • 🧁 Dessert carts and local snack booths
  • 🛍️ Handmade crafts, local art, jewelry, and apparel
